About Urban Wing Chun School

Our school has been providing safe, inclusive lessons on Ip Man style Wing Chun Kung Fu for nearly 20 years.

Based on the outskirts of Bedford, we are the perfect location for students from Milton Keynes, Bedford, Luton and the surrounding areas.

We pride ourselves on our community and the relaxed, go-at-your-own-pace lessons, whilst providing the training and support you need to gain strength, confidence and discipline. You will learn ancient, practical skills on self-defence and harnessing your energy, all while working towards achieving grading belts and certification.

Classes are suitable for ages 10 and up, all genders, abilities & disabilities.

Sifu (Master)

Jon

Jon has been training in Wing Chun Kung Fu for over 12 years, rising to black belt in 2019. He took over the club, along with JM, in 2020 and loves teaching people how to protect and defend themselves.

Sifu (Master)

JM has been a black belt in Wing Chun Kung Fu since 2019 and since taking over the club with Jon in 2020, has dedicated himself to bringing the ancient art of Kung Fu to a wider audience. JM loves showing Wing Chun's techniques to new students.

Si Hing (Elder Brother)

James

James achieved his black belt in 2025 and has taken on a leading role in training during classes. James also practices Tai Chi and loves to combine the philosophies of energetic flow between the 2 art forms.

Zack

After being awarded his black belt in 2024, Zack has thrown himself in to training others during class. He has a wealth of knowledge on the technical aspects of Kung Fu and is always willing to help deepen your understanding of the art.

Steve

Steve attained black belt in 2025 after years of dedication. Always willing and available to help train others, Steve has consistently helped the club and its members flourish.

Josh

Josh was awarded his black belt 2019 and has spent many years helping train at the club and at demonstrations. He enjoys putting his guard pads on and helping club members achieve their training goals.
